Welcome to another big year. We have some exciting news from all of us involved with SmithScapes so I thought the best way to keep you all informed would be to produce a newsletter every quarter.

Currently we are rather busy keeping on top of our clients’ lawns, gardens and hedges. We are starting to lay new lawns all over Canterbury and even completed one in Twizel for an Ashburton client’s holiday house. It was great to have a night away and enjoy some pub grub.

Firstly, my wife Whitney and I have welcomed our first child to the team:
Xanthe Audrey Smith
Born 23 January 2016
6lb 6oz

It’s very possible that Xanthe might be the next generation of SmithScapes’ landscaping wonder woman! We’ll keep you posted.

Although things might be hectic, as always we welcome your enquiries and referrals! We’re always on the lookout for new projects but it’s best to book well in advance of when you would like it completed.

Who knows what the year will bring work-wise but I feel after a year of trying to find a suitable new staff member we have succeeded – below is some news that is rather exciting for the business and our future.

Hopefully you enjoy this small news update, and over the coming months I think it will be a great way to show you what we are capable of, and also a few tips and tricks for your garden, new plants available and a whole lot more.

Staff Updates

Nathan Hurst – Nathan became a new father in early December – it seems to be a trend around here! Wife Sonya and he had a wee baby girl named Charlotte weighing 10lb 4oz – Wow!
Also, after four years of training, Nathan is now qualified with a Level 4 National Certificate in Landscaping so now he is nearly as good as me! He’s probably after a pay rise now…
Congratulations Nathan!

Mitchell Stoddart – After advertising for almost a year, we finally found Mitchell!
Mitchell has been in the landscaping and garden maintenance industry since finishing school, working for other local companies and Environment Canterbury.
He brings a wealth of experience and makes the team very qualified to tackle any gardening jobs. He also has an eight month old boy and is married to Stacey, a school teacher.
Welcome aboard Mitchell!

Exciting times all round! Thank you for your ongoing support. Look forward to seeing you soon.
